Are You Living in a Toxic Home?

All-Purpose Cleaners: (such as Fantastic & 409) contain a synthetic solvent and grease cutter called butyl cellosolve that can irritate your skin & eyes, and repeated exposure can cause permanent liver and kidney damage, and impair the body's ability to replenish its blood supply.

Bathroom Cleaners: (including Dow Bathroom Cleaner and AJAX) contain dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, which can burn eyes and skin.  Scouring cleansers contain crystalline silica, as eye, skin and lung irritant, classified as "Reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen" by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

Glass Cleaners: contain buryl cellosolve, a neurotoxin that is easily absorbed by the skin.

Laundry Detergent: Many laundry powders (like Gain, Tide, ALL) contain sodium silicate which is a corrosive that can burn the eyes and skin, sodium sulfate which is also a corrosive that can cause severe eye, skin & respiratory irritation.  These detergents also contain ethoxylated alcohols, which may contain I.4-dioxane which is also "Reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen."

Dishwashing Detergent: (including cascade and Sun Light) contains phosphates that rob lakes and ponds of oxygen, killing aquatic plants and animals.  They also contain chlorine which can cause headaches, burning eyes and breathing difficulties, as well as reproductive and endocrine and immune disorders.

Don't Despair!  There are many organic cleaning alternatives that work wonderfully well.  We can introduce you to the ones we believe in.  You'll be amazed at what 'clean' really smells like!
